If you can answer ‘Yes’ to any one of these questions then we have just the thing for you. The Holmen Park & Recreation Department is offering ballroom dancing lessons!
Lessons will be offered throughout the year, watch for new sessions each season!
Ballroom Dancing (Adult & Teen Couples)
If you enjoy music, you can learn to dance! Did you know that dancing helps improve your memory and other brain functions, like planning and organizing? Dancing also makes you happy; dancing lowers anxiety, increases self-esteem, and helps you meet new friends. Anyone can learn basic dance steps; no special talent is required.
Introduction to Ballroom Dancing
We’ll teach the basic steps for the most common ballroom dances- swing, foxtrot, and rumba. This class is designed to prepare you to attend public and wedding dances and have fun. Classes are 1.5 hours, with one hour of instruction and 30 minutes for practicing what you’ve learned with instructor assistance. Please register as a couple; if you don’t have a partner, invite a friend who likes music. Instructors: Dave Ford and Melinda Knutson
