1st-4th Grade Soccer
The area Park and Recreation Departments offer a spring recreational soccer league (TRSL) for Grades 1st-4th that will play league games on Saturdays/Sundays and have games or practice on Tuesday and Thursday evenings (3/4 meetings per week). The program format will involve some traveling (transportation is not provided) to Onalaska, Bangor, La Crescent, & West Salem. Boys will play in a boy’s league and girls will play in a girl’s league. Parent Coaches (1-2 per team) are needed for all teams.
TRYSL DIVISIONS (sign up for an individual grade):
- Boys Divisions: 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade
- Girls Divisions: 1st Grade, 2nd Grade, 3rd Grade, 4th Grade
Days/Dates: 1st-4th grade teams will practice on Tuesdays/Thursdays with games on Saturdays and a few Sundays. Practice will begin on April 2nd and will end on May18/19. The game schedule will begin on April 13th. The practice/game schedule will not be finalized until late-March. Please put down a good email address on your registration. All communications with the schedule will be done via email once the schedule is finalized.
Times: Practices will either be 5:30pm-6:30pm or 6:30pm-7:30pm and games will be anytime between 9am-4pm on Saturdays and noon-5pm on Sundays.
Site: 1st/2nd grade teams will practice at Viking Elementary and 3rd/4th grade teams will practice at Viking Elementary, Sylvan Park or Cedar Meadows East Park.
FEE: $90 – All registration will be done online through the VYSA website

Viking Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) is a youth sports club that offers players the opportunity to travel and play in competitive events. The club offers programming at both the competitive and recreational levels as well as “off-season” training opportunities. The competitive program, for players 10U+, will have tryouts in June and run from August-July. Those teams will have a fall and spring season.
Viking Youth Soccer maintains a partnership with Holmen Parks and Recreations Department to share resources and enhance the quality of programming at all levels. VYSA’s recreational program, for ages 4-15, will have an open registration for a spring league. While the VYSA and park and recreations department entities are separate, we work together to provide programming for the recreational level of play.

PARENT VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED
Holmen Park & Recreation Youth Soccer is seeking parents who wish to take an active role in their child’s soccer season. All of our teams, in all three of our programs will depend entirely on parent volunteer coaches to guide our teams through their season. We will strive to place 1-2 parents with each of our teams. 2024 Registration fee will be waived for anyone that is willing to coach.
REMEMBER: The younger the child, the smaller the number of players on the team. And the smaller the team, the more teams we will have. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? WE NEED YOU!

There will be a mandatory coaches meeting on Monday, March 18th, 2024 at 5:30pm at Holmen Village Hall.
