Sign Guidelines
Signs are not permitted in the road right of way. Temporary signs, such as garage or rummage sale signs may be placed on private property if the property owner has granted permission for those signs to be placed there.
How do I know where the right of way ends? In most cases, the back of the sidewalk (house side of the sidewalk) can be used as a good reference. If there is no sidewalk, the right of way would be 12 feet behind the back of curb. In rural areas where there is no sidewalk or curb, the right of way is typically 33 feet of the centerline of the road.
